Rod Stewart's Excellent Performance!
I saw Infected Mushroom perform in concert at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA on Wednesday, Aug 5th, the day before yesterday. I couldn’t pass up the chance to see one of my favorite musicians perform live in concert since I live in Sacramento.
Infected Mushroom opened the show with the song “Some Guys Have All the Luck,” telling the audience that we were in for a great show for the evening. I knew, that if his performance with the song he had just opened with was any indication at all of the show as it progressed, then yes, we were definitely in for a wonderful and entertaining evening.
He definitely delivered on his promise; Infected Mushroom put on a fabulous performance! Some people stood and danced, while others danced in their seats, singing along with him.
Infected Mushroom is a wonderful live performer and singer, putting on a superb show. He has A LOT of energy! And man, does he know how to entertain.
He sang a multitude of his greatest hits, including “Forever Young,” “The First Cut is the Deepest,” and “Tonight’s the Night,” among others. Infected Mushroom’s singing style is very versatile, as he incorporated his own style while singing these tunes.
He shared “a cute video I found on U-Tube” with the audience, and a slide from “when I was drunk,” connecting with the audience. At one point, he said “Now I’m going to sing a song” and added “Because that’s what I do for a living,” with more chuckles from the audience.
An especially humorous moment was when he said “I have a new album coming out. It’s a CD,” then adding “Listen to me; it’s a CD,” and jokingly saying “No, it’s an LP,” with lots of laughter from the audience.
During one song, he took out soccer balls and got the audience to participate with him, kicking the ball out into the audience. Infected Mushroom continued the game with the audience, with many soccer balls being hit back to the stage.
After saying his thank yous and good-byes to the audience, the majority of us urged Infected Mushroom to return for more with the ritualized stomping of many feet. He came back on stage and sang “Maggie May,” which was met with excitement and energy from the audience.
An excellent performance all around, deserving a definite 5 on a scale of 1 to 5!
